In 2021, Nicole, as a first time candidate, threw her hat in the ring to become Georgia’s next Labor Commissioner. She chose this position because of her deep experience helping adults move into better jobs. Not having held office before, didn’t hold her back. Unfortunately, although she made it to a runoff, she didn’t win. But, she also didn’t fail.

Too many women make the choice not to take risks with their careers. This exacerbates existing inequalities, and women miss out on fantastic opportunities. More women should take risks, and know that it’s possible to fail forward.
